Grass is the teaching biome. Routes are short and lava is the most forgiving it gets. Use it to learn the grab, place the first hatches, and fund treadmill time. It is not a biome to camp after Desert returns start working.

Steal here until a Desert attempt succeeds sometimes. Keep two or three hatches only while slots are spare.
Train Speed on the treadmill so you move faster and jump higher, grab one egg, bring it back to your base before lava touches you, and hatch it so the animal can earn. Do that loop cleanly before you push later biomes.
